  • Rober George Leevers D. F. C and Bar, Royal Air Force WW2

Can anyone help me in my so far failed efforts to find any trace of this RAF airman and his family? I believe he emigrated to Canada after the war. He married a WAAF I think but was subsequently divorced. I imagine he will have passed away now. I am posting in the forlorn hope somebody might recognize the name.

            Hi there,

His wife died in 1987, and describes herself as a widow.

            Mary Scott Leevers
            widowed, husband Robert George Leevers
died 30 April 1947, North Vancouver BC.

What is weird is that I can't find a death for him in BC. I have tried BC Archives ,as they have death registrations upto 1993, and he isn't there.

Sounds to me like he left her almost as soon as they got to Canada. She probably preferred to be called a widow rather than a divorcee (if indeed a divorce did take place).
