Hello, I am doing a family tree for a friend and would like some help with half-siblings and step-siblings. My friend and sibling have parents, each parent has a child from a former marriage. Can any one tell me what relationship my friend is to the children of their parents.

If you share a parent with another child then you are half-brothers or sisters because you have a blood relationship. If you have a step parent, then their children are no blood relation to you and they are your step brothers and sisters.
