Is it possible to find out information regarding the sex of the child ?
we know it was a stillbirth the date and also that the child was buried with the mother.
    it was 1938 .

Depends on the records of the cemetery or churchyard.

I have a Scottish grave record that says there's the stillborn child of John buried there but not the name of themother or the sex of the child.

I do believe there is a stillborn register but have no idea who has them or who can have access.

The Stillbirth Register is held by GRO. Access is not generally available outside the close family.

Guy is involved with compiling a Stillbirth register:

If you search for stillbirth in the top right hand corner of this page, you will find several other threads on the subject with a variety of information on them.
