I'm not finding them very user-friendly!
For instance, I have a great uncle KIA 2 Jun 1916 who was in the King's Royal Rifles.
Can I find the correct record for that regiment/date? Nope. And I've tried a few times now.
Any tips, anyone, please?
Thanks

This is the ref for the Diary at Kew
wo97/2120/1
You can put this into the piece number box but you get LOTS of hits, although you can narrow it down by year. Think it must be there somewhere!
Edit - Don't put the Regiment into the search, just enter what I've said above. You then get a huge list of Various (Infantry Bridages) - that should be Brigades, of course but that's how Ancestry have spelled it! If you click on the one for 1 June Ypres, that should give you the whole month for 12 BnLast edited by annswabey; 23-04-15, 18:35.The National Archives, Kew – Research Service Offered

OK Ann, I've done that and got this ...
Discover your family history and build a family tree with the world’s largest genealogy website. Search birth records, census data, obituaries and more!
Although it mentions "12S KRR ... " in pencil at the top, they're not mentioned in the entry for 2 June itself.
I'm not expecting my great uncle to be mentioned by name, just to be able to find out what his unit were doing on the day.
So, am I looking at the correct page, do you think?
Your help is really much appreciated

That seems to be all there is for the Battalion. If you go forward a couple of pages it gives you the number of men killedThe National Archives, Kew – Research Service Offered
