  • How do I go back??

It used to be that when I typed in the address google.com, I went to google.com.

    Nowadays, I type in google.com, I go to google.mx.com.

Then I click "Utilizar google.com" and I go to google.com

And I get a little box offering to show me how to make google.com my default search engine.

And I try to follow it - three steps, but the third step, select google.com from the list - g.c isn't there.

So, I still have to go to Mexico before I get google.com.

I'm using firefox on a Mac. If I switch to Safari, I don't have this problem.

How to I make google.com go to google.com???

    Thanks!!!

Oh, no - 54 views and no responses.

Am I doomed forever to google in Spanish?

        How about this

To make google.co.uk your default search engine,
Click on Wrench, Options, Basics and look for the section named Search.
        Click on Manage.
In the window that opens, click on Add...

Then, in the three lines, type the following:
        Google New
        google.co.uk

        and click OK.
Then click on Google New and then on Make Default.

Note: you can put in any other name instead of Google new.

Barbara - I don't have a google account, so that's not where it's getting ideas from.
Val - I don't have a wrench in my Firefox??

But you both inspired me to start googling about my problem.

www.google.com/ncr - the ncr means no redirect. I've tested that, and it works.

          There's another fix that I haven't tried:
I did the following with Firefox and worked from three different countries:

          1- Set Firefox's Home Page to http://74.125.127.100/

For example, Tools --- > Options --- > in the Home Page blank paste (http://74.125.127.100/)

2- In the top right corner of Firefox where the different search engines bar, click on the little down arrow, then choose Manage Search Engines. It will open up for you a new window. At the bottom of this window, click on "Get more search engines".

It will open for you a add-ons page, write in the search box "google" to narrow the adds-on. then scroll down to an add-on called "English language-specific Google search". Click on Download now and your are done !

Not sure about that IP address tho. Typing NCR is not a hardship, so that's what I'll probably do.

          Thank you for trying!
