  • Library: Carrickfergus, Ireland Church Records

I am looking for marriage records for any McMurtry and McFerren in the Presbyterian Church or Church of Ireland in Carrickfergus between 1750 and 1810 if they exist. Would be happy to reimburse any costs incurred.

    Lisa,

The records you are interested in are kept in PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast.
Carrickfergus Church of Ireland records start in 1740; the Congregational church (which is similar to Presbyterian) start in 1819, 1st Presbyterian church in 1823 and 2nd Pres church in 1852.

So really only the Church of Ireland’s records cover the years you are interested in. I am happy to look them up for you. If you are interested, send me a pm and I’ll discuss the costs.
