There is no abode on the section you have given, you have William Tann - Widower and Sophia Tait - Single it just states the date of the wedding, 16th September which was 1804 and St Mary in the Marsh, Norwich. can you get a bigger picture? The word after Widower looks like Precinct but I doubt it.
A Yorkshire register I looked at recently described a lot of people as "inmate" - they weren't in an institution, it just meant "resident," (someone who lives here.)

Genealogists never die - they just swap places in the family tree
Yep, resident seems more visible on some and precinct on others but am not good at deciphering. It was a marriage I ordered from IGI, St Mary in the Marsh, Norwich. I have William Tann marrying a Sophia, he is from Bethnal Green and I can only find children from 1810

Looking for Ward, Moore, Hunt, Warren...and who was Gertrude Wills
regarding the Cathedral Precinct of St Mary in the Marsh. What this means in the context of a marriage register I don't know but it sounds like an abode.

Added in Edit: keldon's post answers the question, it is an abode
We're now rather use to the American use of the word. This is from the OED.
"The area within the boundaries (real or imaginary) of a particular place or building; the interior; the grounds; esp. the (consecrated) ground immediately surrounding a religious house or place of worship."

Essex - family and local history.
Elaine, while looking at this marriage entry, I looked up William Tann, resident Pulham and found another marriage to a Christiana, from 1871, you might like to look at the census for them from there, if you haven't already, they start off living in (The) Street, Pulham.
Keldon thank you for finding the parish entry, started to look a little too late myself last night so really appreciate you finding it

1851 William and Sophia are in Leyton, so far have no children born in Norfolk but will have to look at baptisms later. Not absolutely sure the marriage is my couple; son Frederick 1819 is baptised as Fred but referred to as Wm Fred. sometimes.
