Hi, I am wondering if anyone would be willing to help me research a certain family member of mine.
Basically I work for the National Trust at a site where my great grandfather used to work as a stable boy. He later went off to WW1 at an early age and was a POW before making it home. As a family we don't know much about his life in the army and critically we don't know his service number.
This is what we do know......
Born 1894 in Dorset
Reginald George King or just Reginald or Reg
Private in Devonshire Regiment or Devon & Dorset Regiment
Believed to have been POW from1916-1918
He moved as a young lad from Dorset to Tiverton, Devon and worked at Knightshayes Court as a stable boy where I work now. He survived the war and as part of our WW1 commemoration in 2015 we want to highlight his story but we are struggling to find any other information.
If anyone can help or recommend something to help us in our search that would be great. If you need any other specific information about other family members to help pinpoint who he is then I will do my best to find out.
Thank you in advance,
Patrick Burt
