I'm puzzled.
FMP has a marriage in Tamworth on 15 May 1842 between George Alfred Hood and Elizabeth Allton, daughter of Ambrose Allton, hatter. [It's also on Ancestry, not the actual image.]
and
Ancestry has a marriage in Mancetter on 7 Nov 1842 between Thomas Millwood and Eliza Allton, daughter of Ambrose Allton, hatter.

On the 1871 census, Ambrose, b. Ansley, Warks (checks with my other info about him) is listed as father-in-law and living in the household of [George] Alfred Hood, Elizabeth Hood and five of the Hood children.
So, if his daughter is the one who married George Alfred Hood, who is the one who married Thomas Millwood?
Are there really two hatters called Ambrose Allton with daughters called Eliza/Elizabeth marrying in the same year only about 10 miles apart?
Any ideas, anyone?
Please?
