    Bourne, Lincolnshire Baptism.

    It's the bottom one please. I have shown the others to help with de-cyphering.

    I'm really hoping you agree with me as I'm getting desperate to find this guy's baptism

        No, i think its def Joseph. But, hey, the vicar/clerk may have written the more common name by accident!! I have seen examples of similar errors, proved by other documents.

          Yes, I have a man who bounces between Joseph, Joshua and Josiah (and sometimes that strange clerical abbreviation of Jospeh!!!)

            All other documents give Josiah :(
            I have him on the 1841 census as a boarder. He married in 1844 (father is William) then his wife and children are with her parents on the 1851 - can't find him anywhere. Emigrates with them all to Australia before the 1861 census. Will keep digging!
