So frustrating. I have a photo of a little girl in school in Moreton Pinkney in Northamptonshire, photo dated, 1918. Child is Bessie Prestidge and looks about 5 years old.

The village is full of Prestidge's, with even a row of cottages names after them, can't find a Bessie or Elizabeth born around that date at all

            I get the feeling not.

            But I will persevere.

            Thanks

Maybe Elizabeth/Bessie was her 2nd name.

Several of my relations around that time were only known by their 2nd or even 3rd name. I looked for a Gertie, who I knew lived with my G grandfather and his family, only to find that although she was baptised Gertrude, because her aunt (who turned out to be her mother!) was also Gertie, little Gertie was known as May!
