My Scottish weavers were from Glasgow at about that time and I've googled for many an hour to find out more, but maybe some of these links will lead you to more:
Discover your family history. Explore the world’s largest collection of free family trees, genealogy records and resources.
Some are just family histories, but some are about weaving/weavers, e.g.,
The Scottish hand loom weavers, 1790-1850 : a social history
Lanarkshire spinners & weavers
Old Glasgow Weavers : being records of the Incorporation of Weavers, with eight illustrations
and so on. Sorry, not specifically Dunbar, but maybe they have references to other resources.
FS lends films, but not books, as near as I can tell.
Thanks Caroline and Photofamily for links . I suspect Dunbar wasn` t important enough for it to be well known, but I was hoping to find information on members of my Sanson family`s connection to weavers. They were well known drapers in 1911c but possibly started off as cottage weavers. Interesting articles though !
Many thanks
