GRO could not find death record

a lady has the same family in her tree as me and I just noticed she had a comment by a Patrick Mahoney born Mar 1851 St George in The East
died
Sep quarter 1855 Stepney 1C 327 seems the GRO could not find the death record ? any ideas thanks

since I posted this have found the burial record and its not our man anyway, still wonder why they could not send the cert, but suppose its a good thing as it would have been money wasted.

Perhaps she gave too much information, such as his age maybe. GRO will not send a cert if the information they are given does not match exactly.

I just had a email from her looks like she stated his date of birth ???? I would never do that, no wonder they couldn't send it.
