  • a little help please..

I am trying to tidy up this line and track them down/kill them off but I am having a little difficulty finding a marriage I know when and where it took place and have found other marriage images online but I am struggling with this one, can anyone find it please.

    England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973

    Name: John Henry Lydall
    Gender: Male
    Marital Status: Widowed
    Marriage Date: 11 Sep 1887
    Marriage Place: Milnsbridge, York, England
    Father: William Lydall
    Spouse: Ada Wardley
    FHL Film Number: 1542258
Reference ID: It 4 pg 205 no 410

this seems to be marriage number 3 for him, his first wife, Emma Amelia dies in 1883, he then marries Ann Dearnley Pickles in 1885 and she dies in 1886, then there is this last one Ada Wardley.. [I have yet to find the death for Ann, I am looking for that now]

    any help appreciated thank you.

oops, that'll teach me not to read all the posts before I reply!

Rick you are a GEM! x thank you, and to you also Elaine & Jackie.. I am not 100% sure IF these Lydalls are connected to 'my' Lydalls, but, seems like a good way to spend some time killing them off!

I am a little confused by this other bit I have in the same family,

before I found out about marr #3 I had two children attached to John & Ann.. I now see that they couldn't be her children as she was dead before they were born. [though I am not sure exactly WHERE I got the names of the children from!]

                            Emma Lydall b. 1888 Milnsbridge & William b. jun 1891 Milnsbridge, d. sept 1891 Milnsbridge

John Henrys father is William Lydall, he comes from Whitwick, Leicestershire, [where my Lydalls come from, I just haven't managed to connect them yet!

hmmn well, I have now found John Henry Lydalls death/burial in dec 1891, am checking now to see if I can find Ada or Emma's death/burial.

ah, I see that an Ada Lydall travelled over to Philadelphia USA in 1892. though I can't seem to spot her in census.

I am now trying to go back a little more,

JH Lydalls father was William Lydall b. 1814 Whitwick, he marries Elizabeth [blank] and there is a daughter Harriet/ot b. 1847 I can't spot them on the census until 1861!.. and, on looking at it, it might indicate that there was another marriage prior to this, as the ages gaps in the children seem very spaced to me.
