  • WW1 soldiers' bibles - Leicestershire Regiment

Carillon Museum, Loughborough searching for bible owners' relatives ... Volunteers are trying to trace families of WW1 soldiers whose bibles were found in a storeroom. About 30 bibles were found in a box at a former army base used by the Royal Leicestershire Regimental Association. Each of the bibles has the soldier's number, rank and name written on it. They have managed to reunite 12 of the bibles to descendants.

There is a list of soldiers yet to be traced on this website

I was hopeful one might have belonged to one of my ancestors ... but no such luck!

Hopefully someone will benefit from posting this info.
