    Looking for a couple of obituaries, can anyone help?

    Leonard Arthur Marcus, died Feb 1994 in Surrey South-western, Surrey, England

    and his wife, Violet Hilda Louise Marcus, died 2nd qtr 1998 in Alton, Hampshire, England

    For such recent dates I would be surprised to find anything as people don't often publish anything about deaths unless they are well known and/or live in a small town.

      Not sure when their archive goes back to, but I found no announcements in the relevant local papers then:



      The news archive seems to go back to 1998.

        not sure if it helps or not, BUT they were married in the Primitive Methodist Church. [I know that some of my relatives were Methodists and they stipulated to be cremated and not buried].

        not that it helps with any obits though, as Margaret says not everyone does publish when family members die in newspapers, it is purely down to the family and whether they want it known that a family member has died. [quite different to the way that US seem to have obits though!]

        looks like they were Jewish origin too..

              Yes - but how did you find it so fast? I waited for the marriage cert!

              And yes, he was Jewish, not certain about the bride, but maybe it was her church?
