Hi Sarah
Nothing on Tribal pages and no Marcus born in England. The closest was a Julius Marcus born 1872 but he was born and died in Hamburg in 1935.

Not wishing to send you off on a wild goose chase, but I think it might be worth considering the Julius Marcus that Chrissie found.

"Your" Julius was born 1872 East HAM (I cannot find a birth registration)
TP Julius was born 1872 HAMburg.

I think I would want to definitely eliminate this one.

There's a marriage in Q2, 1900 in Marylebone Registration District for a Julius Marcus.

Auerbach, Simon
Marcus, Julius
Michael, Hilda
Moses, Kate

but I can't find either couple on the 1901 census.

Yes, Julius married Hilda. He died in 1910, he was born in Russia, but probably in a part with changing borders.

Ancestry had transcribed the name as "Marris" in the 1901 - I had to find him on FMP, first.
