I'm researching into my aunt's (by marriage) family, maiden surname being Lazarus.
I think my aunt was born around 1920, and the family lived in the Walworth area of London. My aunt was the 4th child of 6 we know of.
My aunt and her siblings are now dead, only one of them had children.
My mum remembers my aunt's father's name as being Lewis/Louis and her mum was known as 'Queenie'.
I think my aunt was 4th generation Jewish.
I can find just a few Lewis/Louis Lazarus on the 1911 census but none of the names of his children match my knowledge of the family names.
The children of Lewis/Louis were Nelly (Helen?), Winifred,Frederick,Eileen, Stanley and Raymond, although I am not certain of these last two.
Apparently at some point Lewis managed a pub Faraday Street,Walworth, around 1940-50's.
Any help much appreciated.
If this is sensitive, moderators feel free to move this thread.
Many thanks
