Hi, I'm hoping to find a 1911 census for my great grandparents. I have census records for grt grndfather Thomas Clatworthy up until 1891, born 1876, Newton St Cyres. He married Lily Hunt in 25 May 1901. I don't have much info for her but her father was George Hunt. Don't know where they were from but she lived in Newton St Cyres at the time of marriage. I'm an ancestry subscriber and have not found 1901 or 1911 on there and have checked family search and some other sites too and not found anything to fit. Any pointers would be most gratefully received, thank you.

I just noticed I think I have that 1901, Border, Bricklayer, from Devon, Newton. I had dismissed it as wrong but after your post, checked it and realised how many things fit. Seems a big move to Southampton and back to Newton in the same year?? Did he go home to marry his sweetheart or was Lily from Southampton, interesting.

Were there any children born between Joyce and the one born in 1913?
I suppose it is possible they missed the 1911 census if they were moving to Wales or had recently moved there at that time.

No, I have Joyce 1908 then Nancy 1913. Joyce is my grandmother who lived in Abercynon when married. Nancy I remember visiting in Porthcawl along with Thomas and his wife who also lived in that area. there could have been baby deaths in that big space but that is one reason I wanted the 1911 census, for the number of child born and how many lived. How annoying, I suppose they could have been anywhere between 1908 and 1913, as he seemed to spend time in Southampton.

I found a 1911, wales summary book. Not sure how these work but there is a Mr T Clatworthy, commercial st, public house, Pontardawe and there are 2 males and 3 females at the address. That would fit with Thomas and son Thomas and Lily and daughters, Violet Lily and Joyce. I think this looks good but would this summary then be the only record or would there be a detailed census record as well. Thanks.
