Ancestry has it as Cornbury as well, but I still can't find a birth/baptism or marriagefor a Naomi Cornbury.Last edited by LangleyValeSue; 21-02-14, 07:46.

Not sure if this adds anything. I did a birth index search for Naomi's born in 1851-3, registered in Southam and came up with two names Naomi Elizabeth Plister and Naomi Smith.
A search of Warwickshire baptisms gives
(1) Naomi Elizabeth Plestow, bap 5 May 1853 in Priors Hardwick, illegitimate with mother Elizabeth. In 1861 the two of them (surnames now given as Pleston) are with William & Mary Howard, Elizabeth listed as sister-in-law. From marriage index records William Howard could have married Mary Ann Pleston). In the ancestry transcript for 1861 census, Naomi comes out as Marina but on the image it seems to me to be Naomi.
(2) Naomi Smith, bap 24 Mar 1851 in Long Itchington, parents James & Anne.
I rather think the date rules the second one out since she would have been at least 30 years old (not conclusive I know!) in 1881. (I note that Henry & Naomi Baker were listed as husband and wife in the 1881 census with the ages matching those on the wedding certificate).
Unfortunately the trail on Elizabeth & Naomi Elizabeth dries up for me after 1861 and may be a complete red herring anyway.

Sorry. My third paragraph should have read
I rather think the date rules the second one out since she would have been at least 40 years old (not conclusive I know!) in 1891. (I note that Henry & Naomi Baker were listed as husband and wife in the 1891 census with the ages matching those on the wedding certificate).

Thank you David I did see both of them southam births and made a note of them, I really am at a brick wall with this as Naomi dies a couple of years after the wedding so wasn't able to jump forward and join the dots that way. I think its going to have to be put on one side and come back to in the Future as I have really fried my brain on this one lol.
