  • Funny Place Name. Until.............

I found a Marriage entry and the name of the Church intrigued me .

John Farro ( Pharoah ) Married Elizabeth Potts 5 Aug 1750 at St Andrew by the Wardrobe London .

I wondered why it was so named and did a Google search and Wikipedia came up with the answer .

Edward 111 must have had a lot of clothes .

There are some marvellous church names in the City of London. ... St Margaret Pattens, I think, is one that was near the office where I trained. St Mary le Bow. You might find this site of interest: http://www.london-city-churches.org.uk/
