  • a census request

    Hello all,

I posted a request a few weeks ago concerning the death of Eliza Cain/Bird. I retrieved her death certificate. I was then also helped about the census of 1861, but without success.
Now I have a new address where she and her husband may have lived. Could someone please check this? I didn't succeed in finding it.
The address is 10 St. George's Road, Wimbledon.

    Many thanks,
    Hans

The current St Georges Road, Wimbledon is very near to Wimbledon station, and as such should appear in Wimbledon sub-district rather than an adjoining district.

However it is entirely possible that St. Georges Road was called something else in 1861.

I only have access to Ancestry and I can't search by street on there.

What year was that death cert?
I did a 'list of streets search' for Kingston on fmp and no St Georges comes up. The search covers all sub districts ie Wimbledon, Kingston, Merton etc. The only ones anywhere near are George St, Kingston upon Thames - at no 10 is a Mary Phillips and dau Ann. The other is Nos 1 & 2 St Georges Place, Kingston. No Cain or Bird.
