Could it be De Grout with out the T being crossed? or De Groul

Seems odd the T hasn't be crossed 3 times tho' don't you think? De Groul doesn't appear to be a proper name.

Looking at Saint at the bottom - that T hasn't been crossed either so maybe that's right Margaret - thanks.

If you have an idea of the date of this document, see if he features in a nearby census. I think it is De Grout as well.

              Thanks All.
Delpoal is Spanish I think, Wendy -a possibility.
Cannot find Delpoal or De Grout on any census. Plenty of Grouts

Could it be William D Groat as the supposed e is connected to the letter G not the D and it's just a fancy way of writing a G?

If they are from Netherlands area, also check under De Groot - original dutch spelling, but pronounced Groat.

Yay Thanks Edna - looks good.. It's a transcription for Ancestry London Removal and Settlements, not mine - I used Degroat last night.
