I have William John Hackett born 5th July 1834 in Birmingham (Birmingham Baptisms, St. Philip) to William and Susan Hackett.
I have him with his family up to the 1851 census, and he then marries Mary Ann Collett 27th Dec 1857 (Birmingham Parish Marriages, All Saints)
I can't find him in 1861, and in 1871 he is back with his parents (RG10; Piece: 3092; Folio: 101; Page: 3) but listed as married; there is no sign of Mary.
In 1881 he is back with Mary (RG11; Piece: 2995; Folio: 17; Page: 27) and 5 children Lizer, Emily, Rose, Sophia and William H.
In 1891 Mary is a widow (RG12; Piece: 2395; Folio: 121; Page: 5) and living with Sophia, William and a 6th child Violet. There is a potential death for William Snr Q1 1890 Birmingham. There is no burial record that I can find.
I then have a marriage for William Henry Hackett to Amy Yates 19 Feb 1899 (Birmingham Parish Marriages, St. Georges). He lists his father as William John (deceased). I can't find him in 1901, but Mary and daughter Violet are on RG13; Piece: 2844; Folio: 114; Page: 27.
This all seemed to add up (apart from the gaps) so I started to look up some of the baptisms. I found a baptism at St. Nicholas, Birmingham of Violet Hackett in 1881, parents William John and Mary, but then on the previous line, the same day is William John Hackett to to the same parents! Unfortunately dob wasn't recorded.
So, is William Henry the same as William John jnr? If so, why is he William John at baptism, William H in 1881 and William Henry in 1899 when he marries? Could William John Jnr and Violet be twins, and I have 2 families mixed up?
Also can anyone find them in 1901 or 1911?
