I've had quite a look myself on the Ancestry.ca Canadian 1921 census pages (http://www.ancestry.ca/1921census), which are now indexed (though of typically suspect quality - only a few of the mistranscriptions I have spotted seemed to have much of an excuse, I thought) but I have completely failed to find Leonard BENNETT, who should be in Toronto.
Relevant information - which is best not entered all at once!
Leonard BENNETT, later signing as "Leo"
b 6 March 1887 (though a bit inclined to opt for other years: 1884, 1893, 1903)
b in England -as were both his parents
occupation... probably a salesman / shop assistant, or clerk, but could be something with more mechanical - a tramdriver, say
should be a "boarder"
should be at 199 Woburn av in Toronto, Ontario
probably Methodist, or even Baptist, rather than C of E
Part of my problem is that I haven't managed to suss out where to look for Woburn Avenue.
I'm not asking for anyone to do my hunting for me, but just to let me know if you spot him - or if you spot Woburn Avenue - in your own searches. Because I've found some quite extreme mistranscriptions, it's very possible that he could turn up with some quite garbled name when you're looking for someone else.
thanks!
Christine
