Then her marriage in Australia to Louis Fredrick Perrottet 5 Nov 1855 Sofala, New South Wales A small town famous for gold rush in 1851.
I have this article from: http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/3743546
re CENTENARIAN CELEBRATION 1926 .
Queries: extracts:
1) 'Mrs. Perrottet, who is a descendant of Sir Christopher Wren was born in Kensington, London, in 1826' ???
Her death cert gives her mmn as Jane Maria Wren -I realise this was info given by a relative and based on some story. Whether that is fact or fiction I do not know. I cannot find any baptism for mother Jane Maria Thomas. (My 4 x great grandmother ) Help needed here please
2) 'She married in England and her husband preceded her to Australia. In 1854, when he had become master of a school on Emerald Hill (South Melbourne) she also came to Australia. ' ???
He had left for the Woolshed diggings evidently, to join the gold rush - so she followed him there.
Well she married in Australia not England. Louis probably left her in London and she followed him later. I cannot find records of either of them emigrating to Australia. Help needed here please.
3)' Twelve years after her arrival in Melbourne, Mrs. Perrottet was left a widow with four young children. '
I have her death in 1927 age 101 and her husband's death in 1866 but no birth records for their children. Help needed here please.
Thanks for any help on these queries.
