  • Adoption Query

When some one is adopted, in the 1970's in the UK, is there any reference made to the Adoption on their 'Actual' Birth Certificate?

Yes - the original register entry (and any certificates you obtain from it) will have a note "adopted" written on it by the Superintendent Registrar.

However it will not give the "new " adopted name of the child.

        To be absolutely pedantic, lol.......

When someone is adopted, the relinquishing parent is supposed to hand over the ORIGINAL birth certificate. This of course will not have "adopted" written on it, because it was made out before the child was legally adopted.
