  • Findmypast.co.uk entry

At findmypast.co.uk under travel and migration a relative of mine, Thomas Williams is listed with his wife, but their names have been crossed out and the word 'stet' written over the entry. Does anybody agree with my thinking that this means that they did not actually sail for some reason.

To find the entry, under travel and migration - Britain outbound passenger lists 1890-1960 - enter Thomas Williams / year of birth 1891 exact / year of departure 1934 to 1934 / destination Canada.
Sorry but can't see a way to make a direct link.

"Stet" means that it should not have been crossed out.

Pedants Corner: "Stet" is Latin for "Let it stand". I agree with Jill!

So in other words, they did sail.

        Many thanks
