    Why dont the records go past 2006 for Deaths ? and when will that change ?

    There are no plans to put the index on line. Copies of the indexes from 2006 forwards are available at six (?) centres in England. If you can't get to one of those centres - TOUGH, lol.

    All part of the hysterical identity theft mindset. Or maybe, the saving of public money?

        Do you know where they died?

        It is only the GRO index that has the 2006 limit to certain access points.
        If you know the location the Superintendent Registrar for the district will have a searchable index.
        If it is even more recent one can search, in person, the registers held by the local Registrar.

                  To follow Julie's idea of a google search - have you tried http://www.iannounce.co.uk/ it is a site for recent births marriages and death announcements from the newspapers.
