  • 1881 England Census- Ewer Street, Southwark

I'm having difficulty in finding a Tackaberry family who should be in Ewer Street, Southwark in the 1881 census.

Are there parts of this census missing?

There is a family recorded as Lackerbury in Ewer Street
    Household shown as:
    Francis Lackerbury 38
    Majorem Lackerbury 40
    Francis Lackerbury 14
    Margahem Lackerbury 12
    Geo. Lackerbury 10
    Jno. Lackerbury 8
    Margt. Lackerbury 6
    Jane Lackerbury

    RG11; Piece: 518; Folio: 88; Page: 27

Is that the one you are looking for?

Now there's a mis-spelling of the name I have not come accross before;). So use for checking variants of ...aberry that I forgot to check the start of the name.

I did try FMP for Ewer Street and they came up a total blank

      Many thanks Elaine.

Ewer Street comes up on an address search on FMP for 1881 without a problem, the family is transcribed as LACKERBURY, same as Ancestry.

            Street name: Ewer Street
            Residential place: St Saviour Southwark

Presuming you didn't know it was St. Saviour Southwark, as opposed to Southwark, just entering Ewer Street would have brought up a result.

              As Elaine says ..

In an 1881 Census Address search, I just entered "Ewer St" in the street name field, and nothing else.

In all database searching it is a good idea to start with as few search parameters as possible, and then add more if necessary to narrow the search down if required.
