I am looking to find information on George Tatham between 1861 and 1901.
George was born in 1837 in London, the son of James Thomas Tatham and Ellen Turley.
In 1841, he was living in London with his parents. (1841 Census)
In 1851, he was living with his father at Kidderminster, Worcestershire. (1851 Census)
In 1861, he is still living with his father, this time moving to Walsall, Staffordshire. (1861 Census)
And then he disappears, until.....
In 1901, he is a border living in Northampton. (1901 Census)
I recently found that his older brother, Edward James Tatham, moved to the US in the 1860's. Looking through the records for Edward on Ancestry, I came across an entry for Edward in the US City Directories Record on Ancestry. Looking at the image, it shows a George Tatham, living in the same road as Edward, who is a Currier. This matches my George's occupation, and he is living close to Edward, so it maybe George. (1882 Chicago Directory).
There is an entry in the 1878 Directory of Chicago for a George Tatham, a Currier - but I have not been able to find a George Tatham at all on the 1880 US Census. The 1875 and 1885 Directory's do not show a George Tatham at all.
Any help finding George between 1861 and 1901 will be much appreciated. I have had no look searching through records either side of the Atlantic, but perhaps I missed something.
Many thanks,
Tippin
