  • Probate record on Ancestry query

    what would this mean?
The record says the usual date of death and place it then says Administrator (With Will) (Limited)
    Thanks

I think the word "limited" can either refer to a time period or to just part of the estate.

If there’s a will and there’s also an administrator, then that normally means either that no executors were appointed in the will (unusual) or, (more commonly) that the named executors were unable or unwilling to carry out their duties and so the probate court appointed an administrator instead (as in intestacy cases).
