George Pye, a surgeon and of full age and son of Thomas Pye, farmer, married Margery Rosella Randolph, a minor, daughter of John Randolph also a surgeon, both were of ‘full age’, in 1842 in Islington
Between 1842 and 1848 they moved to Chile. There, they had 3 children, Rosa del Prado c.1848 (or other similar combinations), George Arthur c 1851 and Beatrice Jane c 1855. I have found the baptism’s for Rosa and George in Chile, but not Beatrice.
In 1861 Margery is living with her children in Lambeth, she cites herself as a widow. I believe she dies in 1863, I am awaiting clarification of this.
Rosa marries in 1866, a minor, I believe the witnesses to her marriage are her aunt and uncle.
I think son George Arthur is likely to have been in the Army and Beatrice, a milliner in 1871.
I think I can piece George Arthur’s life post 1871, as he had a number of aliases I cannot be totally sure I have picked up everything.
But I am unsure what happened to Beatrice, there is a marriage for a Beatrice J but she would have been in her 60’s and certainly have very little related to George senior, the surgeon. Can anyone help please?
Can anyone also help me, in possible reasons this family may have been in the Atacama region of Chile for a number of years. Google indicates a mining area, but the war there was not until the 1870’s?
Thank you
