  • Tracing relatives in Columbia

Has anyone tried tracing relatives who emigrated from Scotland to Bogota, Columbia?

I remember a visit from one of the family, a very elegant woman who spoke mainly Spanish. Unfortunately, I cannot remember anything she said about her family other than that she was a fashion buyer for a company in Bogota.

I also have a Catherine Donachie who married James Warren about 1891. My assumption is that they went to Columbia.

I have no idea as to where to start, hence my plea for help.

Have you got their marriage record? have you found them on any census?

FMP have outgoing passenger lists that may help. Ancestry have incoming passenger lists so if you have an idea of when this lady came to visit you might be able to search for her even without a name.
