I ran across an old thread on an Ancestry board today: the author stated he had census records for those years - seemed to be only heads of household, their occupations, locations. He indicated he had bought them from EoLFHS and give weblinks - now defunct.

I went to EoLFHS' websites - I couldn't find CDs of census. Anyone know anything?

Thanks!

Here's the thread:

I seem to remember finding some very helpful early censuses for Norfolk on-line once. Of course I can't find them now but it might be worth looking if that's your area.

Several years ago I obtained a copy of a census taken in Newbury, Berkshire in 1815. It was given away with a 'Who Do You Think You Are' magazine.
It was compiled by the mayor at that time. I have found it useful as some of my family came from Newbury. I know it isn't quite what you are talking about but if anybody wants any info. from that, I will be happy to look things up on it.

Yep, I found that one - unfortunately, the family I was interested in had died or moved on by 1815.

Thanks, Julie - You found more than I did.
I'm not certain I understand the geography. That website is only offering Marylebone index? But the Ancestry thread had Shoreditch & Hackney? I don't seem to be able to pull those up on the Genfair site.

I don't know Sarah, though I have just done another search with 'middlesex' as the search criteria and got this

http://www.genfair.co.uk/search.php?search=1831+census&category=&product_county=&county=MDX&sid=&order=score&Submit=Search&Submit=go

maybe an email to EoLFHS might help?

I sent a message to the thread author to see if he knows more, but, yes, I think EoLFHS is really the next step.

Thanks, Julie
