Find the wife!

I have just discovered an incidence of same-sex (male) marriage according to the GRO index, replicated by FreeBMD because that's what the index says.

George E THOMPSON marries Henry T DOUGLAS in Sep quarter 1922 (Rothbury, vol. 10b page 962).
The other couple on the page looks OK.

Clearly one of the two parties is wrong, but Northumberland BMD was down for maintenance when I looked earlier. Can anyone come up with a more plausible pairing please?

just looked on FMP there are two entries for George E one with him marrying a man lol
the other says spouse Elizabeth Mason

On Family search there's a census saying Henrietta but considering the year it's obviously wrong, however maybe the Henrietta was right?

Groom was Henry Turnbull DOUGLAS - born Q2 1898 in Rothbury district.
Wife was George - George Ellen Thompson whose birth was registered Q3 1898 in Morpeth district.

National Probate Calendar for 1954 has Henry Turnbull's death on 13 December 1953, administration to George Ellen Douglas, widow.

The George who married Elizabeth Mason married in 1921, in Tynemouth district

Thanks Judith for untangling it - Famous Five strike again! I was looking for a male Thompson, so back to the drawing board.
