    FOUND HANGING AT DAYBREAK.

John Lot Rial, 37 years of age, living at 4, Albert-terrace, Nornabell-street, Hull, met a tragic end early on Sunday morning. Deceased, who was staying with J. W. Curtis, his brotherin-law, Belle Vue Terrace, Hawthorn-avenue, went to bed at eleven o'clock on Saturday evening apparently in good spirits. About twenty minutes to four on Sunday morning he we t down stairs. Curtis had occasion to follow him about five twenty and on entering the kitchen he saw Rial hanging behind the kitchen door. He raised alarm, and with assistance he removed the rope from deceased neck. Rial had taken the shop 347, Hawthorn-avenue, where he intended to carry on business.,

This is Emily I think in 1871 http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...&rhSource=7572 and it looks as though she lived with grandparents from birth.

John and Emily are CurtiN in 1911 census, living in Belle Vue Villas, Hawthorne Ave, so it looks like the newspaper could have the name incorrect?........................................ .................................................. ..http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/23...l=ReturnRecord

That must be the one. He does have sister Emily although I thought she married a George Frost in 1874. I will take another look at that. Thanks every one for your help.

Well spotted Janet. I assumed the index was wrong as Curtin is an unusual name as opposed to Curtis.
