  • Uren Rundle Marriage

I need a bit of help with this one, trying to find some information for a friend as he is stuck as well.

Jocelyn May Uren B March 1914 in East Stonehouse Plymouth, Mother’s maiden name Rundle. First name possibly Sarah but not sure. Father’s first name unknown, I will be ordering the Birth certificate for Jocelyn, but can’t do that till next week.

In the meantime I have tried looking for a marriage between Rundle and Uren and have been unsuccessful.

I think I have also found a sister to Jocelyn a Margaret J Uren b1916 again in East Stonehouse in Plymouth.

Can anyone help me trace this marriage?

Thanks for this, i had discounted it as from what we know the family has always been in devon or cornwall, think i may have to dig further into this though and try and find them on 1911 census

Is that date right STG - Eastry and Plymouth suggested to me Royal Marines - there is a 15th April 1902 wedding at the Walmer Parish Church between these two - in Royal Marine register records

        Following children also recorded

        Thomas V born 9th March 1903
        Arthur B - 21st December 1904
        Albert R - 21st December 1908
        Joselyn M - 4th March 1914
        Margaret - 4th June 1916

Sarah is on her own with the 3 boys in 1911 in Plymouth

Looks like Thomas (snr) has a couple of records that can be downloaded from the National Archives

Eastry could also mean coal-mining. The Kent coalfield was just starting up around the early 1900s.
