  • Land tax doc help needed please?

    HOpefully this doc is legible.

It is from 1776 and seems to be a land tax document.
My gr x 5 grandfather is mentioned on it, John Stanbra in the left column. Does this mean that he owned the property which is occupied by the person in the next column and so owes tax on the property?

The assessor at the top of the page under the title, also happens to be a Stanbra ancestor!WarwickshireEnglandLandTax17731830_428476353.jpgWarwickshireEnglandLandTax17731830_428476353.jpg

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

oops, it's probs too small, I'll try to enlarge the important bits.

Meh, this is what the doc says at the top

"an assessment made by virtue of an act of parliament for an aid to his majesty passed for a land tax for the service of the year 1815 ending the 5th april 1816."

Columns then from the left say
Proprietors Occupiers sums redeemed Sums Assessed Total assessment

Assessor was Wllm Stanbra, an ancestor and my other ancestor John Stanbra in the proprietors column.
a different name in the occupiers column and total assessment 11 shillings and 6d..

Did he own the property and let it and this is the tax due?

    Thanks, Amanda
