Henry Bell c1801 and Martha Hanks c1801 were my 3xgt grandparents. I was never able to find their marriage or eldest son Stephen's baptism in Wiltshire and put them on the back burner.
See my 2009 thread re the family here :
Henry died between 1851 and 1859 and Martha has not been identified with any certainty after that although, at the time, I did wonder if the Martha Bell on parish relief in Fisherton Anger 1881 (Martha Bell 1811 Harmington, Berkshire) and in the workhouse in Britford 1891 (Martha Bell c1801 Abingdon) could be her. My Martha's daughter Emma was living in Fisherton Anger in 1881.
I've now found an Ancestry tree owned by a descendant of another Abingdon Hanks which has an 1824 Abingdon St Helen marriage of a Henry Bell and Martha Hanks.
Before I decide whether to spend £17.50 on the Abingdon Parish Register CD, I wondered if anyone on here could tell me if the Abingdon marriage transcripts usually contain additional information, or if they just list the names of the couples involved.
