Likewise I'm afraid Julie...............probably the fault of one of those transcribers! Try writing 'Hunt' and see what it could look like. I tried, Hart, Hurt, Hurst to no avail.

mmm they sure are slippery.. I would expect them to be in/around Radford though, but I know that census is one night over 10yrs they could be anywhere, visiting relatives etc.. I don't think that they are with the Holmes' as I have those through the census and nothing seemed to flag up..

Bloomsgrove Street, on the 1901 census is just off Ilkeston Road, Radford [from the 1881 Census] so you would think that they would not be far away. I am going to see if I can find these Roads in 1891 and see if I can spot anything.

it's ok Chris, am trawling the 1891 in that area at the moment, the enumerator [or whoever copied his writing has made a right old pigs ear of it!]

Isn't it frustrating when they won't come out to play?
We could do with an ongoing "missing" database, so that we could keep on searching for specific individuals whenever we had a little time to spare!

The census returns for this area are shocking Ann, the writing by one particular enumerator was that bad that I was correcting possibly 5 families from each page!!..

I tried too Julie but found nothing
                                    Appreciate it Val

I know what you mean Julie I got another one yesterday with a thank you and a list of all the ones I'd done recently.
It's very nice that Ancestry thank you but do you get contacted now and then by descendants asking if you are related? I've had one or two and one seemed quite put out that I had corrected it but wasn't related. Even though he admitted that it had helped him to find the record

yep I know what you mean, I have now taken to adding to the bit at the bottom [extra info] that this person is not connected to me, I am just correcting the name!

but, hopefully, the amount of corrections WILL help some poor soul that is looking for their relatives in Nottingham.
