Just had a look, and on the first image, could the G W Nettleton be the uncle she was living with in 1881? Do you know whether he went out to Australia too? He doesn't seem to appear on later censuses in the UK, so maybe they went out together

On further checking, George W Nettleton, a saddler and his wife Harriet went to NSW in 1883 http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?htx=View&r=5538&dbid=1204&iid=IMAUS1787_081412-0484&fn=George+W&ln=Nettleton&st=r&ssrc=&pid=235743.

Maybe a couple of years later he went back and returned with Gertrude?

Hmm curious Linda,

That raises more questions.

Do you think that is plausable?

Will have to do a bit more research in to her aunt and uncle i think.

thanks for the info.

It looks like this is George's birth: http://search.ancestry.com.au/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=FreeBMDBirth&h=24526096&indiv=try&o_vc=Record:OtherRecord&rhSource=7572 very unusual middle name - Wilop

Harriet probable death is in 1930 in Ashfield NSW. This looks like the Trove entry for her funeral http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/16727572?searchTerm=george%20nettleton&searchLimits=exactPhrase|||anyWords|||notWords|||l-textSearchScope=*ignore*%7C*ignore*|||fromdd|||fro mmm|||fromyyyy|||todd|||tomm|||toyyyy|||l-word=*ignore*%7C*ignore*|||sortby|||l-category=Family+Notices|||l-decade=193. I note that it mentions daughters. Also her death notice, also in Trove says she died at age 74, which matches with Harriet in 1881 census.

It then looks as though George remarries to Sarah E J Button, and then dies in 1933. Again there is a funeral notice in Trove http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/16968814?searchTerm=george%20nettleton&searchLimits=exactPhrase|||anyWords|||notWords|||l-textSearchScope=*ignore*%7C*ignore*|||fromdd|||fro mmm|||fromyyyy|||todd|||tomm|||toyyyy|||l-word=*ignore*%7C*ignore*|||sortby|||l-category=Family+Notices|||l-decade=193 where he is named as George Widop Nettleton. A daughter is named as Dorothy.

I also see on Trove, when Gertrudes husband John died in 1937, this was also in Ashfield, so they were living near to each other.
