  • Naval Pensioner and missing persons

In 1881 John Keleher, 56,(transcribed as Kelcher) is living with his wife and five children in Kirkdale,Lancs. They were all born in County Cork.He is a Dock labourer,as are his two sons David and Edward.
In 1891 John is living with his wife and one daughter. He is now a Naval Pensioner,so at some time he must have gone to sea.How would he have qualified for this pension and will I be able to find any records relating to it?
Also in 1891 the only David I can find is now an Assurance Agent in Earlstown. How likely is this?He has a wife,Kate and a one year old daughter also Kate.I have not found the marriage or birth, nor can I find them on any other census.I did spot a death for a David Kelleher aged 84 in 1947 liverpool.
Edward is missing in 1891,but turns up again in 1901 and is a sailor and unmarried. He then disappears.
    All ideas welcome.
    Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much Elaine.I knew about Elizabeth's marriage,so should have found it myself! He is not with them in 1911 though, nor with his sister Margaret (Armstrong). The third sister died in 1891(I think).

I can't find any records as you say and am thinking he is possibly at sea. There's a death abroad but the maiden name was Conners and Edward there was ship fastener, but a long shot. Bit stumped
