  • FamilySearch - Remote Assistance

I've just noticed the "Remote Assistance" tab bottom right on a FamilySearch search screen. It seems to be a gateway for a FamilySearch rep to remotely access your computer, which is common enough these days for computer maintenance. I've looked but can't find out if the intent is to provide technical assistance for their site, or to provide further information on search results. If the former, I'm not interested. If the latter though, it may be a very helpful tool. Is it a means to "remote access" a FamilySearch Centre, for example? Has anyone used it?

My son says they are using Team Viewer so they cannot access your computer without you noticing. Probably only to provide technical assistance if you contact them for support.

PLEASE SCAN AT 300-600 DPI FOR RESTORATION PURPOSES. THANK YOU!
