If anyone is making a trip there and has some spare minutes please look up the parish record for Birmingham St Phillips 3.4.1820 when William Povey was baptised. On the transcript for this baptism it gives a mother Ann but no father so it would appear that William was illegitimate. However at his marriage William said his father was another William, a steel toy maker. So I want to confirm that the transcription is correct. If the illegitimacy is confirmed and there is any time remaining please check if they have any bastardy order for him.

Not near Warks RO, but was at SoG in London yesterday. They have a copy of LDS films of Birmingham St Philips PRs, so looked for your William Povey.
P. 368 entry No 5654:
Baptised 3 April 1820: William born 25 April 1819, son of Ann Povey, Temple St, Single Woman.
No other info.
I hope someone may be able to help look for a Bastardy Order at Warks RO for you.
