Saved Major Sir Charles Russell’s life . .
Decorated with the V.C. by Her Majesty Queen Victoria on 26th June 1857
... also Crimea Medal with four clasps and the Bentinck Medal
... became head constable of The Millwall Dock Co.
Died in Crumpsall Hospital Manchester (and buried in Heywood Cemetery)
