I've just done it and it said that I had been successful. I have just been in again to FMP though and it is still showing 395 credits. Isn't that the amount we already had from the xmas glut Julie?

I've been able to use previous credits by searching on the UK findmypast site but making sure I click on the drop down Collections from .. box and clicking on the appropriate collection.
