At one time years were often reckoned within the reign of a monarch in which case 11 Charles 1 could mean in the 11th year of the reign of Charles 1, ie 1636 (Charles reigned from 1625 to 1649 when he was executed.)Last edited by JudithM; 29-12-12, 20:09.Judith passed away in October 2018
