    It looks like Gillo or Gilbo to me. What do you think?

      Could it be Gills? I think first four letters are GILL, last letter maybe O or S

        I think it is Gills. If you look at the enumeration district description it is given as District Gills which is obviously the name of the ship as there are a number of other districts listed with ship names.

              I have only got FMP and looked at the census sheet. I've just looked at the transcription and just get " Gilh Sailing" which isn't any help (5 more credits gone!). This is where I miss Ancestry. You get much more information on Enumeration districts etc.Thanks Elaine for the extra info.

                Did it give the ship's registration number number? You might be able to find out more by googling the ship number.
