    hi all
    well i have been off family search for a while.im starting another part of my family tree and id like a little help if that is alright
    john french married mary ann mckenzie1849.where?i have a bit on mary mckenzie her mother was janet mckendrick her dad was archibald mckenzie. john was a convict .now can we go a bit futher back for parents of janet and archibald.also back for john french.i think that i can go forward.from hear on john french its mary im most interested in.ps i hope i have explain this ok

    From where do you have the information that these two married in 1849?
    Vivienne passed away July 2013

      You don't say which country you are researching, but looking at the names it seems likely to be Scotland!

      Is this record from the IGI relevant:
      JOHN FRENCH / MARY ANN MCKINSAY
      Marriage: 22 JUL 1849 Lanark, Scotland

            well hopefully you have a copy of that marriage. i assume you have some idea when and where john and mary died? if they died in scotland, their parents names should be on the death cert. i see john was a convict, well depending on what state john ended up in, his death may mention parents. his convict records could be detailed and mention family from what i understand of them.

            mary's parents may be in the scottish census, if they died after 1855, there should be death certs, and their parents would be mentioned.
